Royalty v Realty – Prince William and Princess Kate

I admit it. I was one of the 2 billion watchers of the Royal Wedding. I was working doing some editing at the same time, but yes I watched. Didn’t it suck how much obvious pressure the couple were under. I think if it had of been Harry he would have dipped the bride and laid a big smooch right on her, but ‘we don’t do that around here.’

Brilliantly though and once the eyes of us 2 billion were off them they kicked back til 3am, partied it up. Harry of course was people surfing and everybody had a great time….probably once Liz and Phil went to bed.

More importantly though is that within a couple of days William was back piloting his rescue chopper pulling a trapped tramper off a mountain and Kate was in the supermarket pushing a trolley up the isle filling full of goodies to make for Will’s dinner when he got back to their cottage (not palace).

I like the concept of Royalty, but I feel that more than ever in this time we need royals who know us…the common folk. Harry & Will do know us. They hang in bars with us, work with us and even slipped a couple of us past the palace guards to be part of the wedding. People they wanted there.

It got me thinking.

In what part of your life do you act like a precious royal?

In what part are you detached from reality, focussing on the Spielburg production in your head?

When was the last time you really mixed with the everyday person, the one that makes your business and buys off you regularly?

Have a good think…. are you being royal or real?
