Hi Im Mike Handcock, the chairman and founder of Rock Your Life. We are building the number one team of transformational leaders in the world (www.rockyourlife.net). By the way. I’m a normal everyday person, just like you.
This is my umpteenth time to Cambodia. Almost a resident. I never get tired of the place. Angkor Wat, means capital city and thats what it was. Capital of the world in the 12th century. With over 1.2 million people living inside the city limits (a 402 sq km site) and the armies of King No#7 (his name is too long to pronounce) conquering every piece of land from Myanmar, to the Chinese border to the Malacca straights, the Khmer capital was the capital of the world. How quickly that can change. After the death of King No#7 his son basically destroyed the culture in less than twenty years by making a stand on religion. Before that Hindhu and Buddhist lived side by side.
Angkor Wat, unknown to nearly every Khmer person was actually designed well before the 12th century. Like many cities it was built on an even more ancient site. This ancient site has the same geographic and sacred geometry features as Giza in Egypt. Interesting how many of the ancient sites followed similar patterns even though they were miles away from each other.
We always enjoy going to the Rock Your Life orphanage, called Happy family. This trip we were able to re-paint the orphange, it was last painted at least 80 years ago, before it was ever used as an orphanage. The paint job brightened the lives of the children and the new mosquito nets really do help get rid of pests.
We run tours to Cambodia regularly so check it out on our site http://www.rockyourlife.net
This week, we are off to the Cambodian beach town of Kampot, with our Rock Your Life SAGE’s. I will also be in Singapore and Brunei on the way home, so watch out for a big update next week,
